Layers Design Concept (Nicholas Orciani)

on

The rotation of the lightning bolts in my design was heavily influenced by the spiraling piece, by Jen Stark, attached below. Instead of suspending the layers in the air using string, I plan on drilling a hole through the center of my piece and feeding an axel through it that would allow each lightning bolt to rotate separately. I chose to incorporate the blue lightning bolt because it reminds me of my favorite show growing up, the Flash, and has become my favorite symbol to admire, especially in this blue and black, Zoom-themed color pattern.

What is your plan for making sure the patterns all the way in the background stay together? It looks like they are not all attached to each other. Are they going to be engraved into a different background or are they stand-alone?

cool! are the small lightning bolts included in the cut design? if so, how are you planning to attach and not break them?

What is your plan to fasten it all together with an axil that spins?

What are your plans for the base piece? Is that just one circle or multiple circle layers?
