The toy I chose to do was a parody of Candy Land. I might end up switching this idea to a different board game or toy but I’m not sure, also because I’m not sure if a board game can count as a toy. I tried to think about the toys\/games I played as a kid and it was kind of hard to remember but I do remember there being a lot of board games and because I’m the middle child of five kids, there was someone to always get to play the games with. I chose Candy Land because I remember playing this game a fair amount. Another reason is that someone always ended up having cavities when we went to the dentist as kids, some more than others. So altering Candy Land to Cavity Land, something that results from candy, was a way to alter what the concept of the game was so that it’s no longer this fun, colorful game relating to candy and instead it’s a trip to the dentist’s office. While building it, it reminded me of Lily’s dad from How I Met your Mother who would invent board games that weren’t quite what kids would want to play with and I think Cavity Land is similarly a game that wouldn’t want to be played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pieces of the game are toothbrushes and on the board game itself is another toothbrush and floss container. I think I might try to use ZBrush core mini to shape a tooth to then bring into Tinkercad – if I do keep with this idea. A couple other ideas I had related to another board game, an Easy Bake Oven, and or Barbies but I wanted to try this one out first as well as I was concerned about time frame. I think I might try creating the design for one of them to see which I prefer though. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
