I was able to make some test cuts with the wood to make sure my file measurements were all going to work. I also was able to make a mini version of my lantern out of paper to get a feel for how the design would look and I’m not sure I love it. I have started working on editing the shape of the mountians themselves as well as emininating the lines that were just engraved and potentially adding another line of mountians lower on the design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another concept I was thinking about was to move the horizon of the mountians down slightly to allow for more stars and maybe more star variations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any opinions about ways to improve the design to use more of the light or make the mountains feel more like mountains are appreciated, or anything else as always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is the finished lanter and I think it looks really cool in the dark and will be keeping it on my desk for the foreseeable future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
