I took a lot of inspiration from the movie Spirited Away and wanted to test the limits of what could be considered a lantern. The idea originally came when I realized I could make an eight sided box and thought of the rectangular bath tokens from the movie. I have also been inspired by the artists that incorporate colored acrylic into their pieces and love the way it looks with light features. I wanted to make an interesting lantern that is semi-interactable so I am going to attempt to make the bath tokens removable. I haven&#8217;t figured out how to make the inside octagon yet, so if anyone has any ideas or recommendations let me know!
