Hello everyone! My name is Hannah Jayne and I am from Littleton, MA. I am a sophomore here at WPI majoring in Mechanical Engineering and concentrating in Biomechanics. All my life, I have been surrounded by art. I grew up alongside two very creative parents who proved to me there are no limits to creativity. I watched my father do woodwork and build most of the furniture that is now being used in my house. I watched my mother paint landscapes which are now abundant around the walls of the house. Naturally, I became an artist myself when every Christmas my father would buy me a new \u201ccraft\u201d. Some years it was stained glass, some years it was wood burning, some years it was glass blowing, or some years it was jewelry making. Each year served as a new and exciting project and challenge that he loved to watch me get into. When I came to school here, I lost my workspace in my house at home as well as the guidance from my father 24\/7. For this reason, I gravitated towards completing my depth in art. I find that my creative side truly helps the more technical side of what I am studying. In the field of biomechanics, I aspire to work and develop prosthetics to be more suitable for the human body. I hope my creative side comes into play here and serves as a nice foundation for helping the advancement of new discoveries. I look forward to expanding my knowledge of art in this course and exploring all the capabilities of laser cutting in the makerspace. I am excited to create multiple projects through digital software as I have not yet explored that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
