I made some cuts with the cardstock and then plywood for the shadow box. I like how the box looks, and will be painting it white for the final. In terms of the design on the cardstock, I am going to do some editing so I can add more detail to the layers.
Hi! What were your thoughts about light source placement?
Hi Emily, for the final I saved about 1.5 inches in the back of the box to place the LEDS, then I laser cut a small square so I could plug them into a power source.
Hi Vanshika! I noticed the simplicity in your design. I’m wondering, have you thought about how to access the interior battery pack if things need to be adjusted?
Hi Kat! So the LEDs I ordered online did not arrive in time so I had to use LEDs that were powered by a USB. I just put them into the shadow box and then cut a hole in the back so they could be connected.
Hi Vanshika! Will the layers be cut out of different colors of cardstock for the final piece or painted on?
Hi Lauren! I wanted to keep all the layers white so that they could take the color of the LEDs behind them!
What were your plans for colors if you’re using the lights for it? Are you getting certain color LEDs or having color changing or programmable ones?
