Leona’s Final Project

Hello there, here are some projects I have made through the course.

The Beast

I would say this is one of my favorite art pieces so far. At first, I just want to sketch some archeology concepts as I was inspired by Katsuya artist, then I just made him a character out of a sudden. The art piece is a combination usage of 3 different types of wood and a mixture of brownie palettes. It was also my most expensive project as the wood materials are very expensive (if you just buy little wood).

My idea was an imaginary creature that will be a forest guardian and a forestry feature will make its design better. And the protector should never show up – the tree branches will be a perfect weapon for him to disguise and blend in the forest. (And also — I need some branches for my keys hanger — )

He is not just a dinosaur-like creature with raindeer horns, he has his own name.

Into the woods

With a little help from an unknown architecture student at where I used the Makerspace, my lantern project turns out to be a mixture of a lantern street lamp with a birdhouse. The standing design was inspired by my dad’s desk. The designs took me a week to finish.

My idea for each of the sides is that each of them will represent an aspect of the beauty of the forest. Here’s the nighty Hermes the Owl, the peacefulness of Noches, and two familiar figures wandering through. The forest is beautiful, natural yet mysterious. My goal is to make anyone who sees the lantern be curious about the other sides. Let me show you how it is in the dark:

Flame effect LED is a great choice.

Big LEGO Mug and Little Benny

Believe me or not, this is a mug set. So my idea was simply a LEGO 3D printed mug (who do not want a LEGO mug) with a simple mug base. The mug design was created by cylinders and spheres, came long is Benny from the LEGO Movie because he is such a character.

I was painting the pieces after receive my 3 printing, then my father accidentally throw some papers, and I had a little idea. My goal is that the character would have some interactions with the mug or the “titans” (I mean, us), but I found out this little dude can hold my paper notes, how convenient.

This mug is now my favorite mug.

Thank you all of you, for this great course.

Hi Leona! Your pieces are all so amazing and hold so much personality!! I especially love the contrasts of the wooden colours in your layers piece (it almost looks like each layer is a different type of wood!). I also love that your altered toy project is aesthetically pleasing and has a purpose!

This is amazing! All three of your pieces are my favorite! I love how creative you are and your pieces turned out great! I really like how you use color in each of your pieces! I wonder if you are able to actually drink out of the mug!
