When thinking of something important in my life, I tend to fall into the generic “Oh!, my family of course.” route. However, it is very true. Through it all, my parents have been my cheerleaders and I am forever grateful for that. I wanted to take my first opportunity in art to create something to show my love for them. I took a photo (my moms favorite photo of all of us) and traced the outlines of each of us. My design is rather simple, but instead of hours of outlining every detail, this seemed much more appropriate and still looks great! My father is serious when it comes to adding a date to my artwork so I decided to make my engrave portion the date when I give them this piece. An idea came to mind to have “FAMILY” cut out at the top, and also cut the primary outline. Im hoping to take 4 more pieces of 4×4 plywood and glue them together to create a box (without a bottom). My mother loves tealights and I was thinking of making a small wooden lightbox that you can place over a plastic tea light and it lights up the FAMILY and outline of us three on the front.
