I haven’t gotten the chance to actually get into the lab and cut my pieces yet but as an update here are my SVG files. There are a few things I am still working out but for the most part I’m really liking how its coming out. I decided to cut out the vines and flowers and engrave the leaves.
My question for you all is should I add more leaves? And also does the angle of the leaves look okay? I ended up creating the leaves as individual objects which resulted in similar angles (unlike my original post). But did my best to shift them a bit to make it appear as natural as possible.

Hi Hannah,
I think your idea to cut through the vines while keeping the leaves engraved is awesome. For the leaves, I would make a small test cut on cardboard to see if you like them. What material do you plan to use?
Hi! I noticed that it will look like the vines are connected and wrapped around the box. I have an opinion about the leaves. I think the angle of the leaves looks good. If you added more leaves would they be on the vine or the free space around the flowers and vines? If it’s in the free space I think adding a few would be cool. If it was on the vine I think it looks fine as is.
Hi! I appreciate the hand drawn and natural feel of your design. I think the leaves look good and that there are a good number of them.
What are your plans for color/ stain once your piece is cut?
Hi Hannah! I appreciated the continuity of the vines as they wrap around the piece. I think you have enough leaves, but this does make me wonder, what part of the piece are you cutting out, and what pieces will be rasterized?
Hi Hannah! I appreciate the addition of the leaves and think it adds to the piece really well. However I would like to ask how you will show the details of the flowers? If my understanding is correct, cutting the vines and flowers would leave only their outer most outlines and erase the details of the petals and centers. Is that your hope for the final design or will there be layers to show those details?
Hi! I appreciate how the leaves fill the space inbetween the vines. The angles of the flowers, leaves, and wrap of the vines create a cool movement in the piece that moves the viewers eye to the flower on top! How are you planning on assembling the pieces after cutting?
I think the leaves look great! Unless you plan to raster them, you won’t get the little wrinkle line in the middle so thats always something to keep in mind.
