Final Projects

For my first cuts I created a lighthouse trinket!

For my layers project I created a map of Maine where my family vacations every year. I used three different wood stains to replicate the different elevations of the coast line right next to the ocean.

I am happy with how this came out and am looking forward to bringing it to Maine this summer!

For my altered toys project I was unsure how best to represent myself via a toy that shows personal growth. I thought about this a lot and decided that I had to pay tribute to Minnie mouse. As a child I was seen wearing the Minnie mouse costume more often than not. It basically became my uniform. I grew up loving Minnie mouse and have very fond memories of being at daycare with my brother wearing the costume as he was probably dressed up as a power ranger. Here I created a version of Minnie mouse that can sit on my desk as I do my work and I am very happy with how she came out!

Both of these projects are awesome! I did a similar thing for my layers project, and I think that your version is awesome. I really like your choice of wood stain colors, they really mix well together. As for Minnie Mouse, it is really adorable and I love the paint job!
