For my design, I wanted to experiment with making diagonal cuts in the sides of the lantern in order to note how the light will pass through. I purposefully thought the top and bottom should be solid in order to a) allow the bottom to be used as a fixture for the light source and b) the top being closed will provide more darkness which should make the shadows more prominent.
