For design 1, my picture is an attempt at my dog Buddy who passed away last year. I haven’t ever tried to make a piece of art of him, I’m not sure why I haven’t but I figured I would try now. The reference image I used was one from when he was sitting and looking outside. For the piece I focused on trying to include enough to get across what the image was without getting extremely detailed. I took away some lines I had drawn because I didn’t think they added to it and also kind of distracted from the piece. The collar probably has the most overlapping lines because of the nodes reacting to each other and trying to connect lines even though I didn’t want that to happen but I couldn’t get around it. So that part was also probably the hardest and got done a couple of times because of the nodes reacting as well as also trying to get the shapes correct. The cut I went for was to change the shape of the piece so that instead of a square it was a circle, I made that the cut because I didn’t think there was a lot of ways I could add a cut that worked well.
