First Cuts! – Michelle!

WARNING/TW: Same warning as before, where my second cut (drawing #3) contains nudity and mild self-harm imagery.

Below are my first cuts, which came out,,, interestingly,,,

As you can tell from the inkscape image below, my hand didnt fully come out how I expected it to. For some reason not all of the blue lines showed up, but despite this I still really like it and its super cool to see my 2D artwork turn out into a 3D image.
my angel came out,,, interestingly,,, Everyone was having trouble with the laser cutter that day, and i believe I cut it too small which is why a lot of the fine details were lost. I will definetely make a bigger version in the future where the fine details aren’t so lost and it isnt so burnt. I like how she came out, but I’m really excted to see her in her full glory. i”m also still experimenting with the blue/red/black combinations to see how I would like her to be cut.
Here is my second attempt at the angel, which I made quite a lot bigger and the details came out much nicer! Unfortunately, the lasercutter was glitching and the vector lines weren’t centered with the engraving (as you can see by the offset vector lines in the upper lefthand corner), so I wasn’t able to fully cut it out, but I still really like the detail that came out with this piece.
FINALLY after FIVE attempts I finally got her right!!! Very happy to see her!

I appreciate the way you made the hand with unequal spaces between the fingers. Makes it look realistic.

Hey Michelle! You’re cut of the woman is absolutely stunning! I was struck by the small details like the pubic hair, cuts on the arms, and eyes that blend into the hair. In the middle of her chest, it seems like she has been cut open and there seems to be a hole. I love all of the symbolism this piece has!!

Hi Michelle! I really appreciate how detailed all of these pieces are. Despite the fact that not all the lines showed up on the hand, you still managed to create a very realistic piece- beautiful!

Hi Michelle! I am absolutely struck by the creativity in your angel design! I almost feel like the differences between the first and second cuts of the design (though not intentional) make sense in a way? As if they are the same being at different points in time sorta. Love your art!
