I changed my design a lot since the original version. I didn’t have enough wood to print out the last panel, and the last panel is just a mirror image of the flower panel shown below anyways. There must have been some knots in the wood because parts on the flower as well as parts on the edge of the castle panel did not print out well.
5/16/21 update
I stained the pieces and coated them with a polyacrylic, then cut some thin colored paper and superglued it to the back of the panels. I put a bunch of fairy lights inside and it gives off the nice warm glow I was looking for to be a good nightstand nightlight.
I’m struck by the wide variety of images present. What are you planning for a light source? In my opinion, it might be a good idea to choose something colorful like a purple or green LED.
I was also thinking that, or a color changing light inside. I really want to put a candle in it because it resembles the lantern a lot more than I expected.
