My lantern will also double as a purse. I hot glued wood in the middle to hide the light bulb. I’m going to make a handle and glue fake flowers and vines to the outside

Hi Jada! I appreciate the thought process behind the design in making it multipurpose! Will you be using a color scheme for the flowers/vines or the more color the better? Also to give my opinion, I think this piece would look really cool with clear acrylic in place of the wood, and inner boxes to use as a vase/centerpiece for flowers.
My favorite art is functional art, when you can just have something that does a mundane thing, like carry around your wallet and phone, but also look so eccentric or even have a dual purpose. It is the coolest thing to be able to show off. Have you thought about painting the wood? A lot of arbor and trellis structures look really nice when they’re painted white to create a bright contrast from the vines that grow over them.
