(It took me a while to get my account back so I’m sorry for the late update)
I finnished my Illustrator vectors (it was a pain, to be honest, to draw the horns) and ready to have my laser cutting.

This is not my first laser cuts for the project : It’s my third attemp.
My very first cut was a horrible experience due to the wrong material that I chose. I chose pine wood, MDF, red wood and Walnut. But redwood is too expensive (they didn’t sell small pieces) and MDF is thicker than I thought, I was shocked when I received the delivery.
And again, I use plywood. But 2 different types, as you can see in the picture there’re 2 shades of color.
My second cut went not really well : the size is too small so I end up with a horrible cut for the horns that is not even 1mm and the laser cutting machine could not do the wording on the label.

And my third cut is my current cutting. It’s not “perfect” as all but I’m happy with the result.
Next I will try to find the proper glue for the woods and find some wood dye colors.
i love the lettering! really nice, how did you cut that so well?
I first download the font from Dafont website that prof mentioned (it’s the Amarrilo, pretty nice font), then for svg file I extend and make it into a vector, then woahla, the result lol.
I really appreciate all the details you can see in illustrator and how long that must have taken you. I wonder what colors you are planning to use and how, especially on the 2 different woods?
At first, I attempt to use the different shades between the 2 different blocks of wood to make the piece but I personally think colors will make the piece more outstanding. I’m using a palette full of browns, to keep the “wood vibe” and a little bit of “dark academia ” vibe for this character.
Hello! I notice the slightly different colors of wood. How did you do that? In my opinion, making the pieces look a little more like bone would make the beast look more like a dead animal. Unless that’s not what you are going for.
