Texturing
The jpg version of the render keeps coming out much darker than what it actually is. It’s hard to see, but the rocks and wheels have a texture to them. The rover and the astronaut both have textures on their models but it’s really hard to see because of the white color. There’s also a NASA logo on the side of the rover now.
Character Model
My hand modeling skills were atrocious so the astronaut now has robot claw hand things. Been toying around with the light so hopefully he’ll have a working flashlight in the final scene.

Mystery Assignment 2
This is the whole mystery scene. The colors are slightly distorted from the rendering process but there are rocks, oxygen tanks, a broken helmet, the vehicle (of course), and the partially-obscured cave in the background. I had an issue with Maya where every time I imported an object the program would crash, so all objects had to be made in one scene.
Up close for one of the two oxygen tanks:

Mystery Assignment 1
Note: I just can’t get the picture to be in the right orientation no matter what I try, I apologize.
In the not-so-distant future humanity has begun establishing lunar bases to study long term exposure to life in space. All lunar activity must be heavily monitored to maintain life in each of the bases. Moonquakes, underground tremors, have become common occurrence, but many living in the bases no they are nothing to be worried about. As per safety precautions, after a particularly violent moonquake, Patrolman 3-C57 is sent to investigate the surface above the source location. He hops in his Coralis-4 Lunar Rover and covers the 8 miles to the source location. As he approaches the end of his journey a mountain looms where one was has never been before. Curious, and despite the commands of his superior officer being barked at him over the comm system, 3-C57 steps out of his rover and moves towards the mountain. Getting closer and closer he stumbles upon cave. Suddenly a feeling of absolute doom and fear washes over him. Every fiber of his being is screaming at him to run as fast as he can away from this place; but something is stopping him. Curiosity? Stupidity? Whatever it is he has no time to ponder as he is suddenly swept off his feet and dragged into the darkness below.

Midterm Self Portrait
Gotta be honest, this is a mess, but I enjoy every piece of it. It is a cutout of my head with this random cloud picture masked onto it and a static-y background. The plane represents my interest in the military and history in general. I am both piloting and gunning the plane. The plane is shooting a stream of 1’s and 0’s, representing my major (CS) and love of coding, and shotputs, which I threw back in high school. The purple vehicle is a Banshee from the Halo series. It’s there both because I play a lot of video games but also because I think Halo is the best game series out there (Halo: Reach >>>>> the rest). The mountain in the background has a double meaning. Firstly, it’s the Lonely Mountain from The Hobbit, and although most people didn’t like the Hobbit movies I thought they were pretty good. Secondly, I like the outdoors and love to hike so what better way to represent that than a mountain. I chose to have a cloudy background:
- Because it was easy to work with and incorporate my ideas into
- Because I don’t pay attention in my current classes because one of them is early in the morning and the other one is just absolutely boring (I got my head in the clouds)
