Final Project- Jordan Stahl

Here is my final project. After many hours of frustration I have come to a scene. My person was killed with two shots to the chest from a gun that was his own. The killer cut his hand off while fighting the person for his valuables. The photos on the wall are all old projects along with Aram’s vector project. I wanted to add cars to this scene because I add cars to everything. Why did the killer come after this person (other than to steal valuables like his wedding ring and watch)? That is up for you to decide. Enjoy!

Question: I made my person by extruding and changing the position of vectors on the model but when I smoothed it, I got weird lines along the body, did anyone else have this problem?

Texturing- Jordan Stahl

For my background I decided to texture it in brick because most ally ways in NYC are brick. For my hand I made it skin tone and textured it with a yellow leather picture to get it having a similar texture of skin. For my knife I made it grey and used the blin effect to make it have a little shine line a knife would.

Character Part 2: Modeling- Jordan Stahl

For my character I decided to begin to model the most detailed part, or so I want to be the most detail in the mystery scene. This hand took me 6 hours to model and whole lot of frustration. I began to block out where the watch tan would be but it kept deleting parts of my actual hand so I am going to have to work with it.

Character Part 1: Concept Art- Jordan Stahl

For this project I decided to do sketch the man who got killed. He has the most detail in the scene and I thought it would be very challenging to model a person. I have decided to model him as he is laying down in the alley way and after he is killed. Though I am not a very good at drawing here is my attempt.

Mysterious Post 2- Jordan Stahl

So for this project I really struggled with maya. I find it really hard to do Maya on a macbook air and all my files deleted, including my backups…therefore I was only able to do a alley way and an outline of a knife. I tried to extrude the knife but it was not letting me, so I will work on it in class Monday. Maya has been giving me trouble on my laptop.

  • I want to add bricks on the angled walls and back wall. Will ask professor how to do in class.

items to make:

  • background: alley way
  • body
    • two gun shots and powder around them
  • bloody hand
  • tan line on hand
  • bloody knife
  • wallet
  • phone
  • conceal carry permit

Mystery Post- Jordan Stahl

Setting: Detective comes across the scene of a crime, finds a male victim with two gunshot wounds to the chest. Medical examiner checks liver temp, placing time of death around 11:00 pm. Also checks fingerprints to see if he is in the crime database.

Location: Alley in New York City.

Appearance of victim: Male

Clues:

  • Wallet and phone are missing
    • probably a mugging, gone bad.
  • both of the gunshot wounds have powder markings around it
    • suggests that the killer shot in at close range.
  • Wounds on the victims hand
    • means he put up a fight but the killer got the better of him.
  • Tan line on left finger and watch tan on left wrist
    • means he is right hand dominant
  • Crime scene unit finds a knife with blood on it near the body
    • Some stabbing before shot to kill the man.
  • Conceal carry permit found on the body
    • So maybe the killer pulled a knife and the guy pulled his gun….killer manages to get his hand on the gun and shoots the guy at close range.

Self Portrait – Jordan Stahl

For my post I decided to use a silhouette of the two states I spend most of my time in outside of school, PA and ME. I decided to take a bunch of photos from memories to show who I am. The photos are not blended together at all because I wanted them to look like state lines.

Patterns- Jordan Stahl

For this post I used a Land Rover Sport  for my synthetic themed pattern.

For my next pattern I used a photo I took at my summer home in Maine. This was for the theme of minerals.
