The Mystery of the Shipyard

These are the texturing for my objects and the background of my scene. I chose to render the objects within the scene to give a couple different general camera angles. I’ve been having a little trouble with UV mapping of my character so I have not completed his texturing yet.
This is the texturing that I did to my character! I tried to make the coat look alive with some depth and add texture into the hair. I also added some detailing on the shoes and controller.
Here are all of the UV’s that took a terribly long time to locate, match up, and draw in. However, I am happy with how the figure looks finish!

My concept character is detective Jim Kahn and including a front view and side view of the detective. As an unexperienced but clever detective, Kahn uses his knowledge of drone flying to observe crime scenes. While it might be concealed under his trench coat, Kahn is surprisingly fit and agile, and ready for anything!
Detective Jim Kahn was not an experienced detective and in fact, he had never taken a case of this magnitude before. Kahn was ordered to investigate a homicide case at the Gorham Shipyard. The shipyard was forced to be shut down and business was stalled for the day. With reporters surrounding the front gaits of the shipyard and the police station very close to the shore of the docks, Kahn and his small crew raced across the water in the police boat to investigate the scene. The docks of the shipyard covered the shore with warehouses covering the grounds behind them.
As Kahn and his crew moved into the docks, they could see the body of a man laying across a massive anchor. The man looked to have been cut and there was blood on the planks of the docks. Kahn reached down to check the man’s pulse but all he felt was the shock of an ice cold neck of a dead man. Ty, one of Kahn’s crew mates, was convinced that the man had gotten himself tangled in the deadly chains of the twisted anchor while unraveling it, which was a probable suspicion. However, Kahn believed that this could not explain the slash wounds across his chest. Kahn glaced across the docks looking for anything to help them with the investigation. Suddenly he noticed a handprint on a barrel that was up against the overhead doors of the warehouse. Kahn strolled over to the barrel and noticed that the print had been created in blood.
At this point, Kahn knew that this was the scene of a murder! A sharp object had obviously struck the man leading to his death. Kahn looked around for a weapon or object that could have been used. He noticed a hatchet leaning up against the frame of an open overhead door. Kahn walked over to the hatchet to inspect it for evidence. However, it seemed to be clean, but maybe a little too clean. As he reached down to picked it up, there was a loud crash inside the dark warehouse. Kahn’s crew members who had been wandering the scene raced over to the door. Kahn lifted his flashlight from his belt and turned it on. Scanning with the beam of light, Kahn moved inside the warehouse. It had become very quiet and everything seemed still. Kahn shouted, “This is the police. Come out with your hands up!” He turned to his left and suddenly a dark figure plunged towards him…
For my self-portrait collage I incorporated many of the things that I am passionate about including running track, playing soccer, watching racing, and enjoying the great state of Maine! I tried to incorporate the images to create a collage-like effect, however, I did want to make sure the images blended into one another to create a united work. I started with the picture of myself with Sebago Lake, Maine in the background. Running being very important to me, I added two images of myself running track, one from high school and one from here in college. I then focused on my love for soccer were I created a pattern of my favorite professional soccer team’s emblem, Manchester United, and the premier soccer team that I played for Rosevelt Soccer Club. Even further, not only am I wearing my high school soccer sweatshirt in the photo, but there is also a field somewhat hidden on the right horizon line. The race cars on the left have come from a track called Beach Ridge that’s very close to my house, somewhere I would always go when I was younger. I finally tied the piece back together with the allusions to Maine. In my sweatshirt, I added a picture of Portland Headlight which is iconic to Maine and is also very close to a cottage that my family and I stay at almost every summer. The silhouette of the State of Maine is shown in the background because although I’m away at college it is still very close to me.
