For my self portrait, I used an image of a magical-looking forest because I enjoy nature and taking photos of nature, and I enjoy making up fantasy settings and playing games like dungeons and dragons in fantasy settings. The heart uses the colors of the bisexual pride flag. I used a fox because they’re my favorite animal and I edited it to fit the fantasy theme. The dragon is also representive of my interest in dungeons and dragons. The poses of myself and the fox are supposed to look hopeful or like we’re daydreaming. The dragon also fits into this as I often daydream about flying around on a dragon. The background of the image is a starry night sky because I’m a night owl.

Your collage reminds me a bit of spirits from some video game I once played, who would dissipate if you got too close to them. So well done creating the sense of fantasy in your piece. I do get a little thrown off by your use of shadows and shading, It looks as if the fox next to you is casting a very heavy shadow on your side that just abruptly ends. I realized after looking more intensely for a bit that it is your arm and the edge of your sleeve, but this could be smoothed out a bit more or the shadow could be less intense.
This image gives off a very soft and dreamy vibe, which I think really works with the magical spirit-fox and dragon. The only qualms I have with this piece are that there is not enough contrast, and that the first time I looked at it, I thought the dragon was just another bit of stone cliff!
the fox definitely caught my attention, it is really ghostly looking with the transparency, but also gives it a spiritual feeling. Reminds me of ‘soul of fox god’ form anime. The dragon head looks pretty interesting, definitely fits into the background, but im not sure how it relates to the two main characters
Interesting use of silhouettes in this image. The starry motif of the image contrasting with the bright forest of your silhouette helps bring out the daydream theme. Given you’re the only character in the image without a face, it gives you sort of an ethereal vibe.
