Self Portrait

For my self portrait, I decided to continue on with my crazy cat lady theme. I used a picture of me and Sammy right before I left for IQP last year (he looks thrilled, I know). I used a few photo editing tools to make it look better. I wanted to keep it relatively simple, so I used a mask to cover the background and created the mixed background using vectors and recolored it to match the color scheme better. I used both floral and geometric patterns because these are my two favorite types of patterns for clothes and things like that. When I asked a couple of my friends how I could add more pizzazz, one said flames and the other said glitter, so I made glittery flames using a glitter pattern I made. Using their advice also lended to the idea of this representing me, because my friends are very important to me.

  1. I like what you did here, but I would of blended the edges of you a little more into the background so that if flowed better. By the red hat and red background, it gets a little choppy. I like your different backgrounds and how it is not just all one plain color.

  2. I really like how you made the color of the background compliment your jacket. The picture looks fairly flat, so it might have been nice to add a shadow behind you are something to give it some depth.
