I really like the simplicity of the design and the use of gradients. The weird lighting in the original photo, with almost no shadow really throws off your position and I think having a solid background also does the same. I guess what I am trying to say is that my brain is thrown off by your orientation which is distracting me from the rest of your piece. Otherwise, Great work!
The detailed outline of the hoodie and pants helps give the picture a realistic look that would be hard to achieve otherwise. You even included the small strings hanging off his shoulder and pants. I also like how the arm that is coming back over his body is a slightly lighter color so it does not blend in with the jacket.
