Synthetic: Chinese Knot and “fortune” Paper cut
Comments: in the center is a woven Chinese knot we use to symbolize best wishes, combined with a paper cut “fortune” character. Both of which are commonly used for holidays. Images were cropped/selected so that adjacent tiles have seamless transitions.
Animal: Snakes in the dark
Some simple line sketch of snakes, different color schemes were used and parts at edges all connect seamlessly. I meant to have the snakes form some sort of symbol at first, but it didn’t turn out that great so here is what it’s like now.

I like the look and simplicity of the snakes in the second pattern and I think it turned out well even without the overall big design. One small suggestion I would make is to smooth it out on the edges where it tiles because a few bumps can be seen around there.
For your second pattern, it looks too obvious that it’s a repeated pattern. I think it would look better if the tiling point was less apparent.
I like your first pattern and the way it repeats. Maybe it is just my computer, but the image you used for the Chinese knot looks a bit blurry compared to the paper cut “fortune” character. I would suggest finding a larger image so it doesn’t look as blurry.
I think your second pattern could be improved if it were model somewhat after the design of your first pattern, in the sense that the snakes flowed seamlessly into each tile in some sort of design. Currently, it looks rather haphazard but bland. You could also always accomplish more depth by incorporating multiple indistinguishable snakes writhing in a pile beneath the ones you already drew.
The chinese pattern is incredibly well done. EVerything lines up perfectly and intertwines seamlessly. It isn’t apparent that it’s even a pattern, it looks more like one large fabric work that could be handled as a single obejct
