The layout of leaves around the plate in your vegetable pattern combined with the orange and red background reminds me of the sun. It’s an effective way to convey this image without changing the color of the orginal pictures.
I like the circular pattern with the leaves, and not only that, but they lead into the next leaf with the slight curvature. The use of the plate to balance and fill in the circle to make it more dramatic was a great idea as well. The gradient between the red and the orange is interesting as well, as it gives a feeling of depth.
I think the slight differences in the every square really help to make the second pattern look nice and make it more visually appealing. It makes the pattern look alive in its design because it almost seems like its changing while staying pretty similar.
