Vector Tracing

This is Kylo Ren or better known as Ben Swolo. This is important to me because I grew up on Star Wars. The famous shirtless scene of Kylo Ren was one of the peak moments in Star Wars The Last Jedi.  I must admit I made mistake picking this picture as my vector tracing. The number of shadows and lighting angles proved to be very difficult to do vector tracing on. However, in the end, I’m pretty pleased with the results.

  1. I find the shadow under his eyes to be very distracting. I think the face would of been a lot better without it and perhaps mess with gradience if you think it is important. I just find it to be very choppy and distracting. I am also very curious why you went with the background you did.

  2. Despite what you think, this actually was a really good vector trace considering the lighting. The torso is done extremely well and really shows the contours of the muscles to give the human shape.

  3. I think the vectors and coloring in the chest and pants are quite impressive, and well chosen. I also really like your choice for the background here, I think it’s a smart choice to go more solid with the background and isolate Kylo.
