Here’s my first pass at creating the dog pound breakout scene I described in my last post. It’s definitely not perfect and going forward, I look to smooth out the paper on the clipboard, refine the shoe, and redefine the bite taken out of the bowl in the cage. Additionally, I’m looking to put more appropriate textures on the objects, instead of just basic colors.

The shadows and lighting here really enhance the futuristic prison vibe, as well as the fact that the color scheme used is absolutely perfect for the scene you are going for. For the clipboard, the paper could be created in a more smooth manner by making a 2D curve and lofting it into a nice thin polygon.
The bars seem straightforward, but they line up perfectly with things like the lock, and are very regularly spaced. The keyhole is a nice detail, and I agree that in the future there is a lot of opportunity to do cool things with lighting and textures as well.
I like how your scene tells a story while also being fairly simple. I also love the lighting and I think it definitely enhances your scene quite a bit.
