Self-Portrait

For my self-portrait, I decided to highlight my love of travel. In the foreground, I included an image of myself and I overlayed an image of a map onto my face. In the background, I collaged together several images of places I have either been or would like to go. I wanted it to look like I was taking a selfie in these locations. I included the Hollywood sign because I live in Los Angeles, St. Pauls in London, The Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Great Wall in China. There were lots of other images I wanted to include but I didn’t want the image to get too crowded.

  1. The way that you have overplayed the map over your face is very strong. How the map fits over your nose truly looks as though it is contouring to the curvatures! The other images that you have used in the background create a very interesting composition and the piece clearly shows that you love to travel!

  2. All the separate pictures used in your collage blend together extremely well. They all fit together with your theme of traveling in a way that is very pleasing to the eye.

  3. I found this collage to be one of the cleanest and most beautiful. The complimentary orange and blue color scheme is incredibly pleasing to look at. The double exposure on the face with the map speaks volumes of your love to travel.
