I had a bit of an issue trying to get a reliable leather texture for the shoe. The Maya renderer also likes to add in noise once it’s finished, which distorted a lot of the textures.
Textures
Every texture from the set has either been improved upon by changing the material, keeping it the same to fit its position, or applying an entirely new texture. The beaker has been changed to be transparent and the liquid inside to be a solid polygon. The Macbook did not change much, but it has some shading on the corners now. The jacket of the detective was changed to a leather material, as were his pants. All of the shoes were given a better pattern to stop them from being so reflective. Photoshop was used to create the patterns applied to the walls and floors of this picture. The door’s wooden pattern was also created in Photoshop. The pencil was slightly changed on its main yellow texture to show wood better.
This last picture had some issues with lighting so it is hard to see, but it is supposed to show the transparency of the beaker and new material on the pencil.

Mysterious Textures
UV maps are wondrous and painful things… Spent quite a lot of time figuring out what shapes correspond to what parts of the character, but I’m mostly happy with the result. I tried to think about the bear texture as being a man-made marionette, so I applied a cloth texture to be somewhere between a doll and a fuzzy teddy bear. I tried to make some hair by using the grid bump mapping, and played around with surface shininess on the buttons using the Anisotropic materials. I will probably revisit some more of the scenery, to add wallpaper or maybe some wooden floorboards.

Texturing
For the Bar table, I created a dark wood pattern with almost black rings. I changed the stool legs to a silver gloss as well as added a leather texture to the seat part to make it look like an actual stool. For the floor I went for a lighter grain of wood to contrast the rest of the scene. I also changed which types of color blinn, phong etc on the glasses to make them reflect more realistically. The hardest part was definitely trying to make the wood pattern realistic and took a while messing around with the settings to make it look right.

Texturing
Hello all,
I had tons of trouble with this assignment. Maya did NOT want to cooperate. As a result, I had to do a lot of Blinn, Phong, and Anisotropic. The floor was the only texture maya did not fight with me on for some strange reason.
**Also Maya decided to corrupt my Chuck E Cheese character model, so I just used Mickey Mouse instead.
Here are my shiny new footprints and reflective sign:

Here I have the full scene. The floor likes to stand out:
The gun is what came out the best with the Anisotropic material:
And here is my shiny Mickey Mouse. I chose Phong for his fur because black fur needs to show more depth:
Hope you enjoyed!
