Mystery Pt 1

It was early morning at an old prison in Upstate New York. Most of the prisoners were still asleep in their cells, except for one. Not only was he not asleep, but he wasn’t there at all. His cell door was still locked, his window still barred, and yet his cell was empty. His floor was quite dirty, even compared to the rest of the old cells that never saw much cleaning. There were tubes of toothpaste littered on the floor and a garden spade that no one had seen before jutting out from beneath the bed. The toilet looked slightly askew, the caulking a little messy, but not something that someone would’ve noticed earlier in an old place like this.

Soon everyone would be awake and wondering, how did he escape?

Mysterious Objects Part 1

Excuse my English, I’m so bad at writing   >_<

Lucas is a school boy, and he has a lovely dog called “shrimp”. One day, Lucas finished he’s school work and started watching tv on the couch, while shrimp was eating he’s food in the bowl. Suddenly chaos happened  when Lucas spilled his drink on his school work, and shrimp started licking the floor. Lucas tried to get his paper back but the dog insisted on holding it. Then the goose chase went on, they were on and off the couch, and the baseball broke the window… Finally shrimp ran off, yelling sound disappeared into the distance, and of course Lucas slammed the door on his way out.

Police was called when Lucas’s parents returned home and found the mess in Lucas’s room. Can you tell what happened from the picture?

Mysterious objects

The prison guards were astonished when they approached an empty prison cell during lockdown. Buster and Monte, the two most rebellious inmates, had been seen two hours ago at dinner, but were now nowhere to be seen. The cell was locked and the prison was shutdown, so they couldn’t have possibly exited through the cell gate. So, Detective Jerry, the best in town, was called to investigate the cell. Upon arrival, he immediately noticed a puddle around the toilet. Investigating further, Jerry found a hammer clogging the drain in the toilet. He carefully removed it and placed it on the floor and continued looking around the cell. He walked over to the window, the only other obvious way out of the cell besides the door, but found nothing wrong. Jerry was puzzled, so he took a step back, when he noticed a crooked painting hanging on the wall. He got closer to the painting and took it down to reveal a giant hole. Jerry was certain that this is how the prisoners escaped. Piecing together all of the clues, he deduced that the inmates had hammered through the wall with the hammer he found. But it would be impossible to get through the wall with just a hammer. Looking around a bit more, he finally found a chisel under the bed. “That’s exactly how they did it. They must have been planning this for quite some time and hiding their progress with the hanging picture,” explained Detective Jerry. He assumed that when the time came, they threw the hammer in the toilet and tried to flush it Then they tossed the chisel under the bed and quickly removed the picture and climbed through the hole, putting the picture back behind them. Now the only thing left to do is find the prisoners at large…

Mysterious Objects Part 1: Story & Concept Sketch

His aviators shimmered in the sunlight. He steps off his metal horse, his custom baby seal leather boots shining. The gathered crowd grows silent. Time seemed to slow. His mustache quivered, if only for a moment, and the crowd went back to a silent whisper. They knew why he was here. He knew why he was here. And the dead body knew why he was here.

Murder” he muttered, his mustache dancing on his upper lip.

The shields before his eyes fell, exposing the sunlight to the corneas beneath. Their lids tighten, and he gazes upon the scene. Something’s off.

He approaches the Castle’s facade, where an distressed Cowboy and his fellow Astronaut are hovering over the corpse. A princess looks on.

Stand back“, his deep voice bellows. They oblige.

Observation #1, he thinks, victim is humanoid but clearly not human. His ears are the size of his hands, which are nearly half the size of his enlarged head. Oddly enough, the victim’s only clothing is that of read trousers, white gloves, and  yellow shoes.

Looking up he orders the body to be removed. The blood on the ground is now fully revealed, and he can focus on the evidence at hand.

Leading from where the head lie, rodent tracks immortalized in blood are still wet. What appears to be the murder weapon rests far from the head, almost as if thrown. And something glimmering catches his eye; something of monetary value.

He picks it up, mustache trembling, as he reads the inscription carved into the coin. Chuck. E. Cheese.

John Wick Pencil

John Wick Bar Scene

Quick dialogue from movie

Viggo Tarasov: It’s not what you did, son, that angers me so. It’s who you did it to.
Iosef Tarasov: Who? That fucking nobody?
Viggo Tarasov: That “fuckin’ nobody”… is John Wick. He once was an associate of ours. They call him “Baba Yaga.”
Iosef Tarasov: The Boogeyman?
Viggo Tarasov: Well John wasn’t exactly the Boogeyman. He was the one you sent to kill the fucking Boogeyman.
Iosef Tarasov: [stunned] Oh.
Viggo Tarasov: John is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will… something you know very little about. I once saw him kill three men in a bar… with a pencil, with a fucking pencil. Then suddenly one day he asked to leave. It’s over a woman, of course. So I made a deal with him. I gave him an impossible task. A job no one could have pulled off. The bodies he buried that day laid the foundation of what we are now. And then my son, a few days after his wife died, you steal his car and kill his fucking dog.

This scene basically sets up the rest of the movie. The quote highlighted in red is one of a most know, iconic and resonating quotes from the entire movie. From the way Viggo Tarasov describes John Wick, you can already imagine just what happened at the bar.

My scene will take place in a dim lit older bar. The bar table will be a “L” shape made out of thick dark wood with lights hanging from the ceiling. Three bodies will be spread around the bar: the first, still sitting on the stool with their chest and head face down on the table, maybe with a pencil sticking out of their head and the second and third will be somewhere on the ground.

To make sure this scene is easily noticeable, certain objects or references from movie will be placed around. Next to one of the bodies on the ground will say “Baba Yaga” written out of blood. As said above, Baba Yaga was John Wicks nickname and means Boogeyman in Russian. Another object will the pencil which will be protruding from the head of the guy leaning on the bar. The last object will be one or more gold coins on the counter which is what John Wick and other characters in the movie use as pay and currency. The coins could either be paying for the drinks or the clean up as seen earlier in the movie.

Mystery Assignment 1

Note: I just can’t get the picture to be in the right orientation no matter what I try, I apologize.

Mysterious Objects Part 1

The detective walked into the little shop, being immediately overtaken by the thick layer of dust in the air. The Recycled Fiction Hoard was a rather small and unknown book store that had been recently launched into the news all because of a rather big occurrence that happened there; a serious theft. The victim was a local rich baron who had been having a cup of tea while reading a recently purchase book. The stolen item was an extravagant pocket watch that the baron always kept on him. The culprit was still unknown but after the detective looked around he hoped to know more about that. As the detective circled the table that the baron was sitting on he noticed the still half-drunken cup of tea and the barons purchased novel sitting there, he must have stormed off in a rage once he noticed his pocket watch was gone. The detective pondered this as he continued his investigatory look around. The table was next to a disorganized book shelf which, even in its current state the detective can still tell that something is off. The books seem oddly clumped to one side. In that moment inspiration struck the fine detective, someone stole the watch from the baron’s jacket through the bookshelf. The detective had the means and opportunity, but he still needed to find the motive and the culprit. The day wasn’t over quite yet.

Robot Primitive – Kyria Nelson

Here is my robot. I am brand new to Maya so it is very simple, even though it took me nearly 2 hours to make. I tried and tried to render it so the black-colored items had shadows (like they do in the render window) but no matter what, when I save it to JPG they are pitch black 🙁

Primitive Robot

I made this retro robot because I thought this was still what robots looked like until I got to WPI and met people who actually make them.

Robot Primitive

Hey guys,

For my Robot Primitive in Maya I drew some lighthouse-looking thing. It reminds me of the Jimmy Neutron monsters, however I can not find a good reference picture for that so you’ll have to look it up yourself. They are basically T4 Viruses if you know what that looks like, but those aren’t quite like my lighthouse here below.
