To celebrate the recent Patriots’ AFC championship victory, I decided to perform my vector tracing on Tom Brady. This is a photo taken from the game. When choosing a photo, I felt that Brady’s real thoughts are captured in this image during the game.
This is the original image. I chose not to include some small details because when I did, the small image size created a messy look that I was not happy with.
I really like what you have done with Brady’s photo but I would of tried a gradience on his helmet to help break up its dominance in the photo.
The emotions of Brady in this are captured wonderfully with the vector shapes within the face; concern that he’s down by 2 possessions, but knowing that he’s come back from greater deficits and the past. Truly an homage to the legend.
It was a good choice in keeping the background in its original state. If you had tried to turn it into a vector tracing then it would end up looking like multicolored polka dots, and if you had made it a solid color then we would lose the context of the photo
