Patterns

Synthetic Pattern:

My first pattern is a multi-layered picture of shaq banana. The cool part of this is that in the more distant layers, shaq banana becomes more of a shadow. Also, I messed with the opacity and the color randomness of the layers which makes it so that different part of layers pop out more than other parts of layers.

Vegetable Pattern:

This is a pattern of cabbage.  I first inverted the picture by having the four corners in the middle. Then I took 1-inch interval circles starting from the outside and rotated them 90 degrees clockwise until I got a 1 in diameter circle in the middle.

  1. Your vegetable pattern is very strong! There are so many interesting things going on within the piece. The circles that you have created within the 2×2 sections are unique because it is transforming the waves of the plant. It almost looks like a sea of purple cabbage!

  2. Your first pattern is really interesting to look at with all the variegating colors from the overlay of the one picture. It has a great sense of completion and unison – which I believe is from the use of only one photo.

  3. For your vegetable pattern, I love how you got something so detailed from just one subject of interest. It looks really cool, and the fact that it’s like that naturally makes it all the more interesting.

  4. Your vegetable pattern is very well done. I noticed that in each square the cabbage is rotated, but it isn’t a large/dramatic enough rotation to break the harmony and flow of the pattern
