Makeup for Additive/Subtractive

Before

After

This photo caught my attention when i was looking back at my trip to lake Bled, Slovenia. The place was beyond incredible but it was quite a pity that a few pieces of trash got in the way of my shot, so i removed them with photoshop.

  1. The image you chose was a very aesthetically pleasing image with the reflection of mountains and the fantastic blue sky. The completely empty lake does look pretty interesting and the trash is definitely annoying.

  2. I like your choice to remove the trash from the scene. It makes it look a lot more serene and your eyes are drawn to the scenery instead of the trash.

  3. I like the idea of eliminating the trash from the edge of the photo as it does allow you to focus more on the rest of the landscape. However, I think this could be taken a step further by removing the houses along the edge of the lake, and potentially removing all evidence of ripples in the water, as if the lake is completely untouched by humans.

  4. Removing the trash from the picture was the greatest idea because it takes focus away from the water and instead puts the focus of the picture on the background, which should be the focus.
