Subtractive Assignment

My subtractive “art” took and old Garfield comic and removed garfield from it. All that’s left is Jon Arbuckle talking to himself and staring at the table. Make of it what you will. The hardest part about this comic was the background, which you can see is slightly distorted where I had to fill it in.

  1. I like the simplicity of your subtractive work. It turns one piece of artwork into something completely different. From a man talking to his cat, to a man with schizophrenia. It shows how removing something so simple can change a story entirely.

  2. This made my day. The adjustments and detail you put in after Garfield was removed is really convincing. I would love to read this as a legitimate comic strip.
