Nature vs Machines, Night & Light 3: Nebulae

The third sketch in “Night & Light” is Nebulae, is which creates a different starry sky with each mouse or key press. The color is randomized as well as the star field, so you get a different sky each time!

  1. This sketch creates an awesome nebulae effect with the randomly generated “clouds” in the background. The colors are not too pronounced and the opacity creates a realistic effect with just circles.

  2. I was very impressed at the nebula that you created. I had though you had and used the noise function to produce this as the noise function is actually a common way of “rendering clouds” (fun fact, that is how they do it in Photoshop). I think it would be cool if there was a very slow creep to the sky simulating the earth rotating though potentially it would not be perceivable.
