This course is an intensive workshop in creating art assets for use in 3d game engines. Students will conduct research to support their original level designs, create concept art, then build their content using Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush, and various Audio editing tools. These 2D, 3D, animation, and sound elements will be integrated together into playable levels using the Unity3d engine, culminating in the creation of an original game level. Each student will create their own individual project, gaining experience in every aspect of the game art process and pipelines. Class projects, and most homework assignments, will be incremental milestones towards the creation of finished, playable levels.
